Green Blog: On Our Radar: Ex-Japanese Ship Joins Effort to Stop Whaling

In what it calls as a coup, the conservation group Sea Shepherd says it has purchased a ship previously owned by the Japanese government, one of the group?s biggest antagonists, and will deploy it for antiwhaling activity. The vessel ? named the Sam Simon, after the founder of ?The Simpsons,? a benefactor ? will join three other ships that are to sail to the Southern Ocean this month to chase the Japanese whaling fleet.
